BAYBAYIN commonly known as (Alibata)
Baybayin is the ancient writing system used by pre-hispanic Filipino Tribes. Though it is more commonly known as "Alibata", "Baybayin" is its proper name. The term "Alibata" was introduced in the early 1900s by Dean Paul Versoza of the University of Manila. It all but extinguished during the Spanish Colonization. MK uses the Visayan Version of Alibata. LAGUNA COPPERPLATE WRITING
A small, innocent-looking object found in 1989 on the southeastern shore of Laguna de Ba'y was such a find. The object is a thin copperplate measuring less than 8x12 inches in size and is inscribed with small writing that had been hammered into its surface. This newly found document pushes the "starting point" of Philippine history all the way back to 900 A.D., 621 years earlier than the previously accepted date of 1521 when Antonio Pigafetta wrote his observations during his voyage with Magellan. MARAGTAS LEGEND
The stories known as the Maragtas are legends that may have been based on actual events in the remote past. They are about the ten datus or chiefs who escaped the tyranny of Datu Makatunaw of Borneo and emigrated to the island of Panay. There they bought the lowland plains of the island from Marikudo, the leader of the indigenous Aytas. According to the legend, these ten chiefs and their families are the very ancestors of the entire Visayan population. For more info please click link below.
